SOUND OFF

Wildlife

Non-hunting guests enjoy guided game drives and bush walks all year round, for which it is advised to bring a tele and a macro lens.

Game animals, a variety of bird species from the larger eagles to the magnificent multi-coloured sunbird, exotic insects and a tenacious, often breathtakingly beautiful plant life that takes root in even the most adverse conditions, are all captivating subjects. Yet some events are best committed to memory, as the camera cannot do justice to the sound of a storm gathering over the savannah, or the smell of the wet grass when it has passed.

Ohorongo successfully preserves a number of endangered species such as the black-faced impala, roan and sable. The owner is a member of several wildlife funds and societies and is committed to preserving the rich natural heritage of the country for forthcoming generations.
